Fancy floating mower deck on a pivoting axle. The price is kept well hidden so that’s worrisome to the pocket!

Not me thankfully! A few years ago I sold a 17.5 hp husky manual shift to purchase a zero turn. The guy I sold it to showed up with a truck and some 2x6's then said, "would you mind loading this for me, I don't know how to drive this thing"......scary but successful load...anyway..there's a trailer in my driveway now, wouldn't do it again.

Oh. No clue where that is. I was going to offer mine for use if you were closer. I’m out west. Your best bet is to probably just rent a uhaul trailer for a couple hours to get it home or pay the delivery fee unless you’re going to be hauling it around.

Are you buying from a dealer? My JD was delivered for free. They charge you enough for the mower; it really is the least they can do. But if you're planning to tote it around at other times, then carry on.

You could also add a few $$$ to the project and get a tailgate protector from @Mobtown Offroad. He has a nice metal overlay.

I just bought the Cub Cadet XT1 with the 42" deck and it fit in the bed no problem. I had to keep the tailgate down for the front wheels but you will run into that with any.

On a short Bed? Assuming you backed the mower onto the bed!

No, that's the second best advice given. Have them deliver it was the best. Probably a 2k dollar mower they are probably making 30% on... have the chuckleheads deliver this thing.

    Working on them
Lowe's has trailers that work perfect for the mower $559 and you can almost fold them up (not good for heavy haul) when I purchased my 42 inch ride mower I also went after a deal on the trailer and did get a reasonable discount since I purchased both at same time. Also when I was looking for Ride Mower I went to Home depot did not buy the mower there because lowe's had same for less but they offered a rental trailer on a deposit no charge otherwise.

The only advice I didn't see: You could borrow a trailer from a buddy.

That being said, I find my little 5X8 trailer to be extremely handy. Besides hauling the ATV to deer camp, I've used it quite a bit.

Depending on the layout of the lawn this isn't a bad idea. I have about 1/2 acre, but my wife has several islands that are in flower beds. It takes longer with a rider than I can do it with a push mower. A zero turn would do it, but the exercise isn't bad and I'm too cheap to buy a zero turn.

Eleven years ago I went from a 1/2 ton to the Tacoma. I figured out real quick that I needed a trailer. I'm now back in a full size and still have the Tacoma as a 3rd vehicle. I simply prefer to use the trailer 90% of the time even when I could put stuff in the truck. It is easier to load/unload with a ramp on the trailer and I can pull loads easily with my Tacoma that would be too heavy to put in a 3/4 ton truck.
