I completely agree. This is my first truck and we didn’t get it till after a whole year of running our construction company out of my wife’s outback. Full sheets of plywood, lumber and sawhorses on the roof racks, miter saw, table saw, compressor, nail guns, hand tools, etc in the back with the car seat in place! If we’re being honest, most of us here would be much better suited for a Subaru for price, fuel etc. and some of us really just need a Prius.

Doesn't the new Ford Maverick also have a 1500 pound payload capacity?

My 3rd gen has LESS weight carrying capacity than some Corollas. :(

    This is about 800 pounds.

Well they don't want that open channel frame buckling in the center. She's designed for safety not load carrying capacity

Thank you for being helpful ... One other thing to note is that a kiln dried 2 by 4 by 8 will weight roughly 9 to 10 pounds. I just bought one and weighed it for a dumb project I was working on a few weeks ago. So call it 10 pounds. Conservatively speaking the OP could get 100 in terms of weight. I would need to map out how many across the bed and how high that stack would be.

Clearly best to rent a trailer but do-able if you are using the crappy, light wood 2 x 4 x 8 that you see in some of the big box stores today.

All good thoughts ... I think I would make two trips, as much as a pain in the ass that is. But then again it depends on the wood. As someone stated wood from a lumber yard, no because it is probably newer and heavier. But then some of those boards at Home Depot? Light as a feather. Probably okay. The other big challenge would be to find 100 of them in decent shape at any of the big box stores. I recently needed like 6 and it was a pain to find 6 that were in reasonable condition (straight, not warped or curved, etc.).

Crazy as this question may first appear, I am fascinated by it. OP, please post what you decide along with pics. I am so curious ...

I don't know why that is a trigger warning. The Ridgeline is a good looking truck that serves a purpose. In fact, I know two contractors (one a GC and one a plumbing contractor) and they both have Ridgelines for their business. They work really well and the whole bed organization and trunk keeps things very organized. Nothing wrong with that. Would I go across the arctic tundra in a Ridgeline, no. But it definitely has it purpose.

So right about the poor quality of the big box stores lumber, I would definitely choose a lumber yard for large quantities with better quality so you don’t have to pick through. And it may indeed take two trips depending on your payload rating and lumber weight.

    Uh, maps pretty simple.
    10 wide is 35”
    10 high is 15”. Probably closer to 36”w x 16” h if they’re green and 3-9/16 x 1-9/16.
I’d go by bump stop clearance and what kind of roads are along that 100 mile way but it’s not worth shortening the life of leafs or bearings to save that second half day round trip.
I doubt you can put that many green sticks in without bottoming out.
More than half the load will be behind the rear axle so it will handle poorly.
    Weight limits assume proper distribution.

Delivery is probably less than renting a trailer for the day , just sayin

What it is: a spider trap, something that needs constant maintenance that will be used maybe 3-4 times a year . I'll just smoke my weed, BBQ and drink on the fucking patio the thing that's already attached to the house vs. packing shit out to one of those money pits where the husband hopes like fuck after about 3-5 years lightening will hit it or a friend will carelessly dispose of a cigarette so he didn't have to mow around it.

I certainly would not describe the RL as attractive.....but that's subjective. But has far as everyday usefulness....it checks most boxes.
