I have a fist size hold in a 2010 Toyota Tacoma frame. Missed dead line for having Toyota fixing. Was told the dead line was missed by two months. Truck has 89,000 original miles. Should I just cut my loss. Hole was noticed when jacking up truck to check the brakes. Truck was bought used from a dealer three years ago. Representative for Toyota it was a hard stop for them helping us cover the repair. We received no recall notices. Is it worth to repair the frame 15,000 + or should we sell for salvage.

Is it worth $15k, is entirely up to you. What's the rest of the frame like? People have patched rotten frames. However, there has to be sound steel to weld a patch/cap.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Sorry about your luck. This is the Achilles heal of this vehicle though many around here will swear it’s not a big deal, it is. I would patch it if it can be done then sell disclosing the repair and move on. The frames rot from the inside out and once it starts you are not going to stop it. Contrary to popular belief this is not normal and does not happen to pretty much any other modern vehicle. And if you invest in a new frame, it’s still manufactured the same way.
