meh... so many pretend to think their dogs are human

I like useful, properly behaved dogs...
^ maybe not so much the owners whom
    fail to understand their responsibilities
of training and controlling their animals

    hole digging fix...
put some leather booties on the mutt...
and it will fubar it's digging fun.
and while yer at it... a dress and hat
so's I can laugh at the idiocy of those.

    --------------------------

    annoyance rant...
(ignore if you have soft ears or are in denial)

I've known lotsa peeps that own dogs
and few of them make any real attempt to train their mutts
or teach them any behavioral manners.

Muh own mother is guilty as charged.
F that stupid little thing she calls a dog !

^ it's not much different then rearing children properly.
if ya didn't teach yer kids by the time they're 10 yrs. old... you failed
Same with dogs... only that translates to the 1st year for those animals
    ;)
Truth be said... seems lots of kids, these days, missed that parental discipline.

~yeah maybe I'm just getting old and cantankerous~

btw... I trained hunting dogs as a teen.
It takes hours to train a dog properly.
Methods consist of both reward and punishment.
Repetition is the key to success... along with bonding.

Most people have no business owning a dog IMO
They don't spend enough time training their pest
and it is a nuisance to everyone but the owners.

^ just because the owners put up with their pets poor behaviors,
shouldn't mean that others should have to.

~ or is the old saying true...
that dogs are simply a reflection of their owners~ ?

When I had my dogs... (any of the many)
I would've bet muh life savings...
they were brighter and better educated then most people I know
I know definitely, they were better behaved.

    but they were still dogs...
I knew it, they knew it...
and I think they preferred living as such.

    ...end rant
