Have any lower-end models been spotted yet?

Don't get me wrong - the range topping models with loads of options and off road capabilities are nice, but what about lower and entry level models?

I'm just looking for a simple fuel efficient truck for light duty, nothing fancy.

Something like the 2016 equivalent of this.....

Wishful thinking, but I think Toyota should stick that 2.0L turbo from the NX 200t into those 5 lug low entry models. Would be a perfect engine and an upgrade from what it has now.

Nah, I'm fine with the 4cyl that's available now. My hope is that the aero enhancements and new transmission give it the best fuel economy of any truck available on the market.

I'm sure they will continue to make the small wheel model. They sell thousands as work trucks to companies

I'm not doubting they will, I'm asking if anyone has spotted any out in the wild or if Toyota has released pictures yet...

Might be an SR package which is pretty close to the base but with some color matched items.

I agree. Looks like the limited grill without the chrome strip around the outside. Interesting to see a six lug with no fender flares too...

I kind of like it without the fender flares.

I doubt Toyota will let you configure it this way, but that model in DCSB with a moonroof would be my next purchase.

I like it SO much more than the TRD/Limited models without the flares or crazy grille. I think we are going to see a lot of people downgrading to that grille. The question I have is whether or not the TRD model trucks have stick on or bolt on flares.

Sorry don't know where it was shown. Popped up on Facebook about a week ago and was posted by another user in the non bitching thread.

God man. I just can't get over how gaudy the grills on those 3rd gens are.

I would love to see the 2.0L Turbo motor from the NX 200t in a 3rd gen Tacoma X-Runner.... if they ever decided to bring that back. 6 spd manual tranny with a 4-link rear suspension, man that would be sweet  Yes I know I'm dreaming

I'm with you man. With all that money and R&D I'm pretty sure Toyota could but they won't haha. They cater to the masses.

I've read some where(I think it was Motortrend) that that 2.0L Turbo will eventually make its way into the Camry and Corolla. If it's true or not we'll see what Toyota does.
