I’m debating on what i should do. I’m currently daily driving a 15 tundra on 35’s 50 miles a day. I am spending money on gas like crazy. Sucks cuz the truck is paid for. But I’m starting to think it’s time to send it on down the road….

It is rough enough driving a bike in daytime, on dry pavement. Too many idiots becoming increasingly idiotic. Oh wait, I have to make this call, I mean I really have to make this call. I'll only go 300 feet before I glance at the road again.

Get one. They are fun. I’m in La Grange area and work about 6 miles away and planning to take the motorcycle or Ebike more often. I bought a Himiway but it’s required a lot of minor parts changes under warranty for sensors failing etc (poor QC in general). if I did it over I’d get a Aventure.

I would react now before the truck market drops off a cliff, it’s not a matter of if at this point - but when

At some point, prices will drop simply because fewer people can pay these new prices for both gas and for trucks. Of course that means we are probably in a recession. This is all so sad and was avoidable. [Please don't ask me how because I don't want to get banned]. If you live close to Mexico, gasoline there is $2/ gallon cheaper than California. The border wait to come back north isn't fun, however.

I cap my gas $75 at a time. I know, it's no difference in the grand scheme. But just physcological for me.

I drive the taco when I need a truck. Going camping Memorial Day weekend, will take taco even though might cost hundred in gas. When at home it’s a drive way ornament, drive my tesla 3.

I love riding and unless there’s snow on the ground or ice I’m riding. I usually bundle up well enough it’s not bad and with heated gloves and grips it’s pretty enjoyable. Think the coldest I’ve rode in was around 15*

Wow, you sure do like to waste time at gas stations. Drive till it’s empty and fill up. Repeat when needed.

Really depends on the bike. I could ride my V-strom in the cold it’s pretty well protected heated grips etc, but a naked sport bike or something would kind of suck. I don’t mind cool, fall rides in the Midwest are my favorites, but I pleasure ride and prefer nice warm sunny days. I will be riding more this summer due to gas, not because I can’t afford it, but because I refuse to pay it unnecessarily. Truck will still be used for camping and commuting as needed.

The station I go to is right outside my kids school. I pass it every day. I don't daily my truck. It takes a whopping extra 5 min max.

Mine is my daily driver, so no real change. Filling up once a week, or somewhere over it's gonna start being $80 a fill up now.

I remember 2008 (?) or so when gas was over $4/gal here in Phoenix and lots of people sold their big v8 lifted trucks and most notably, their Hummers. Then, eventually, gas went back down and was around $2/gal again. I was banned recently so, I won't tell you why.

My point is, you might sell for less than it's worth, incur the cost of a replacement vehicle too, only to "save" a few bucks a month in fuel. Even if you keep the truck and buy a cheap commuter you will likely not save anything overall. And, gas prices will likely come back down at some point as demand drops, wars end, policies change (I hope) etc. If you keep it, you will still have the truck you like and suits your lifestyle.

I'm NOT EVEN CONSIDERING selling/trading my Tacoma. Not no way...not no how! Just my $.02 worth.

My outback gets about 12 miles per gallon more than my Tacoma and while the Tacoma is more fun to drive it does stay in the garage a little more.

A few weeks ago, I hit $125 in one fill. Officially my most expensive tank yet.
Before I get branded, this is 87 octane. SF Bay area $6.50/g

It has made me think about doing something different, but there’s nothing out there (yet) that even comes close to what my Taco is and can do with the reliability & fun factor.

So I’ve opted for route two, finding a smaller fun second vehicle. Looked into the Honda S2000, Miata 2008-2015, Datsun 240, 260, 280-Z and Corvette 1997-2004.

My low mile 99 C5 FRC in black on black should arrive next week, it’s rated at 18/28 mpg, problem solved.
