Greetings, newbie here looking for another Tacoma: I have had three but all have been the 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive. I think that my earliest one was a '91 or '93. Sold one, one got totaled when I was rearended, and I am doing just fine with the 2000 that I now have. I just want to try an upgrade.

I like the 2000, but other than looks I don't know why, so I could be talked into another year (between 2000 and 2004), if I found the right rig.

Seems rare to find a regular cab and to find a 6 cylinder, 4X4 with a manual transmission even rarer. And that is before any of the SR5 or TRD talk, which I don't speak yet anyway.

So... if anyone wants to school me, I would appreciate any help.

I drive the city mostly, but like to go over the mountains (Cascades) to eastern WA regularly to play; and the Forest Service doesn't maintain roads the way they used to. Way too many times I have had to turn around - hence the interest in 4X4. I like the turning radius and looks of a regular cab. And I can't even imagine not having a manual transmission - even in the city.

At this point I am almost at that stage in life where I would be buying my last rig, or I think like that anyway. So I want whatever is one of the Golden years, and I will put money into it to bring it up to my standards and keep it that way.

    Thanks!
