If you don't need the heavy hauler, I'd keep the Tacoma. In the long run, it's cheaper to maintain and run. That being said, a Duramax with only 59k miles on it is hardly broken in! Both are great vehicles and will run for a very long time but it sounds like the Tacoma suits your needs better.

Im jsut curious why even if you have a Tacoma you would rather spend more money to keep the Duramax, spending more money to pay it off, more money on gas, and overall more money in upkeep. Sell it and enjoy your Tacoma. And like the one guy said. Buy new friends with the money you get for selling the Duramax OR Supe up your Tacoma. Hell find a V8 and drop it in :)

Diesel prices are appalling compared to standard gas, and the fuel mileage on the duramax - well at least mine - is sub 9mpg. I have to stop every 250 miles to fill up 31 gallons @$3.99/gal....it's a good thing I don't pay for my own fuel.

Not entirely true - I drive a 25,000 lb apportioned commercial 2010 3500HD towing a 30 ft +/- 10,000lb trailer. There is no way my Tacoma would be able to descend long grades without burning up the brakes and or the transmission - the Duramax/Allison has Grade Braking. It's also doubtful it could climb without hunting-gears and overheating half-way up.

Now if all I did was drive along straight flat roads with zero stopping all day long then maybe a Tacoma could pull my trailer but unfortunately that's not the case.

Is your sub-9 MPG towing or unloaded? Unloaded, the duramax will get better fuel economy than the Tacoma. If you're getting sub-9 MPG unloaded with the duramax, you have a very heavy foot and you likely won't do much better with the Tacoma given your driving habits.

That truck is absolutely disgusting (and I mean that in the best way possible). I can't remember where it was, but I read through the build on that thing and it's quite a machine!

Pirate 4x4 has a build thread for it. Truly a lot of work. Not crazy about the exterior but man it's quite a beast.

I'm pretty positive that it is SAS. If you can find the build thread on Pirate, it's pretty impressive.
