just a couple of things tbh
i didnt even get past 5k miles on them... had belts slip on 3 tires you couldnt talk to the person next to you in the truck at 35mph... massive disappointment since i loved the tires but cant trust them tbh lol
thats the thing it was a fight to get them to buy the tires back... discount tire fought them for me and was able to get it sorted out finally but even then it wasnt a full amount since i had hit 5k on the tires.... so i got maybe half the value if that to buy new tires....

Do you have any pictures of this wear? It almost sounds like the tire is cupping. When I had a tie rod on it way out it was causing really poor wear patterns up front. And we aren't talking much slop to cause it. Hardly noticeable when checking. Could be the case. I would invest a little more time diagnosing the wear pattern before slapping new tires on. Some tires do wear poorly but I feel like a tire as common as this we would of heard of it more often.

I wanted to name drop Duratracs for the same reason. That's why I bought them. Not because I drive a lot of snow, but because I wanted an AT tire that was as close to a snow tire as I could get without needing to change tires every winter.

I can't speak to how loud they are, simply because I had bad bearings that I blamed on the tires as they must have failed about the time I swapped them. It's MUCH quieter since I replaced the bearings, but no back to back comparison from the rugged fails to the Duratracs.

    Check build thread!
Another vote for the Nokian Outpost NAT. They sent me a set to try out and get some product development data on, and I'm extremely impressed.

Tacomas come from the factory out of alignment and the dealers do nothing before they sell it to you.

I don't have pictures but maybe later I'll try and get some. I have my alignment checked every rotation. I've bee doing this every oil change so every 5K. I am going to copy and paste a pic from a KO3 thread. It's a pic of a KO@ with similar wear except mine on the outside lugs. I can understand different things causing uneven wear. But this every other lug is just odd. To me, it seems like it has to have something to do with the alternating long and short lugs. At any rate, once I figure what I want a get them, the front end will get a once over. Again, this pic is of a KO2 similar wear. And again, mine's on the outside.Capturetire.jpg

Yep she's cupping sometimes the tire is just bad and can do that but I'm willing to bet there's a deeper issue causing it.

The dealer offered me the Nitto Ridge Grappler as a port installed upgrade when I bought my Tacoma in 2023 I told them heck no and after reading this thread I’m glad I did. I have owned four wheel drive trucks for 40 years and since I bought this truck for highway use I didn’t want the typical road noise with AT tires which usually starts around 10K miles.

If you live in an area that has frequent snow or you off road then you have to deal with the typical issues with AT tires. They usually look great but if you are not in mud and snow I recommend all season tires.

Would be interesting to know if your alignment got out of spec at some point since install, would explain the funky wear. This happened to me on my last set of tires. Obviously you’re not gonna spend the money now to find out, but if upon install of whatever new tires you choose, when they do the alignment, if it was significantly out of spec at least you’ll know what happened.

Agreed. I’ve read alot of reviews on the Ridge Grapplers when I was doing tire research and people complain about a few common themes but uneven wear isn’t something I really ever came across.

    20K and small.
Just got their second rotation, and nothing worthy of note.
New tread depth on these is 13.5.

I would suggest trying a higher PSI. I had a set of tires do this when every shop I went to would set my tires to 30 psi. I started running 35 psi and problem stopped. Ultimately I think the root cause was unbalanced tires causing the tire to bounce up and down. But the higher tire pressure made the tire stiffer so it didn't bounce.

Take a look at the Atturo Trail Blades XTS Hybrids.

I have about 7,000 miles on mine and hardly any wear at all.
