I am looking to purchase 4 Tire Pressure Monitoring sensors for my 2010 Tacoma. Has anyone purchased any recently? I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction as to where to purchase them. My plan would be to have my local shop install them for me.

    Thanks.

I got a set of non-OEM from Town Fair Tire for my ‘07.

Can’t recall brand or part numbers but it was about $30 per tire or less installed when I bought a new set.

It was nice to have the light turned off after a couple of years of driving it that way.

You might want to consider the spare as well...

The spare can’t be read by the computer. So it would only be worthwhile if you’re running a spare in rotation.

OEM TPMS can be bad for $100 shipped or less on this forum all day, brand new take offs not 10 years old. The real price of OEM leaves little reason to go aftermarket.

I’ve bought a half dozen sets for $100 or less and they’ve all been new.

Search in there, they come up for sale more often than you’d think.

    Huh, the price must’ve dropped.

I was pricing them up at the time and $30 or so was a bargain or so I thought.

Good to know if I keep the ‘15 for another 5 years. Thanks!

If you called a dealer they’re something like $100 a piece, but that’s the inflated list price. They’re worth what the “used” market pays, and that seems to be $100 or less for a set of 4, shipped to your door.

I’m not sure offhand, seems like the third gens might not have been compatible or vice versa, but there’s probably a few threads about that that can confirm.

TPMS, something else you didn't know you didn't need until it became mandatory. If only it would stop at TPMS, but it don't. We now have Volvo, building vehicles that will only travel at what Volvo deems a "safe speed" Then there is GM with their, the vehicle wont shift into gear if the driver seat belt isn't latched.

Who asks for this stuff? certainly isn't the consumer.

I recently bought 5 sensors from RockAuto for my 07 when I replaced the wheels and tires. Things I learned, get the ID numbers for each sensor. That number is on the sensor itself, not the box. I have a steel wheel on my spare while the other wheels are alloy. The same sensor for the alloy will work for the steel spare. The sensor on my spare tire is read by the computer. It indicated a low tire and it turned out to be the spare. Also, 3rd gen sensors will not work on a 2nd gen.

Spare tires stopped having monitoring, IIRC, in 2009/2010.
