So I bought a set of Relations wheels, which seem to be specifically made for Tacomas, and 4x4 models at that. But I'm at the wheel shop getting them mounted, and they won't fit on the front hubs. The center bore on the wheels is 108.1, and the center bore on the hubs is supposedly 106.1, so it should fit with out issue. But the shops saying it won't go over the Grease cap, which is too big because it's 4x4.

So what's going on? Why won't the wheel fit?

If the wheel center bore is actually 108.1 mm it should fit without an issue as the hub lip is 106.1 mm in diameter.

As you can see in this image the dust cap is a smaller diameter than the hub ring where the wheel sits.

Yea that's what I thought, but it's not going over the hub/dust cap...

It wont fit without spacers and the spacers must have a bigger centerbore, unless you have a machine shop or qualified person drill out center. Those will fit a chevy, maybe others but not your tacoma.

Measure the bore and hub. They may have sent you the wrong wheels. A machine shop can fix it for cheap

I bought them private party, off a guy in the Wheels forum... So returning them isn't really an option...

Looks like my options are to either machine the center out, or buy a spacer?

    Chevy wheels seems like.

Spacers may give you another headache. I’ll elaborate if you want. But probably try to get the bore opened up first.

    Yea what other headaches?

I'll ask the rep if it's possible these are made for a different truck. Maybe the guy I got them from bought the wrong thing, or was sent the wrong set.

OP a company such as kwicksilver or similiar can open up those bores for sure! Ive seen some sketchy boring go on with audi wheels going on VW's and shit, but a couple millimeters wont harm anything. I say you machine them out a few mm

Aren’t Toyota wheels hubcentric? I’d think accuracy of having them bored would need to be spot on. Maybe these are for a nisssn? I know they’re 6 lug too but don’t know bolt center.

Instead of trying to fix them why not ask the seller WTF? I mean selling (Chevy?)rims on a Toyota website sounds a tad shady to me.

Agreed. This is the best choice of possible actions. Otherwise, you run the risk of a FUBAR.

I bought some SCS wheels, shop couldn’t get them on.
I had hub centric rings on my old wheels to make them hub centric.
I went out there and told them you got to pop off the rings, they had transferred from old wheels to hub, fit like a charm after.
    Could this be your problem?

If you look at the image he posted you will see that it isn't even going over the grease cap.

I'd be talking to the seller, seriously he should be refunding all money you spent including any shipping.
