my new clutch and flywheel are viberating and grinding noises coming from the transmission.
I had a dealer put a lce proformance clutch and heavy flywheel in. it also has a header from lce and there were no vibrations or anything before but why now?

Obviously, the dealership messed up something doing in the install. Is it grinding all the time or just when you shift? It could be that the clutch isn't engaging or disengaging completely, so it's like you're riding the clutch constantly or not pushing it in all the way and the gears are crunching when you're shifting. Either way, you need to get the truck back to the dealer or a competent shop bronto to get it fixed. Having it towed there would be preferable to driving it and destroying your trans and/or new clutch/flywheel.

I don't ride the clutch and it's not during shifting it's under load when I'm accelerating it's going back tomorrow

I didn't mean that you're riding the clutch. I was saying that it could be acting like you are if something isn't installed/adjusted correctly.

Too bad it’s not working right, always hurts to spend $ and end with a poor result. Is the 2TR internally or externally balanced. In other words, do you need a neutrally balanced flywheel or not? I imagine it’s internally balance and the LCE flywheel neutrally balanced, but if flywheel balance is off it could explain the vibes. Lots of variables and your best bet is to bring it back to where the work was performed and hope they don’t blame the aftermarket parts without taking it apart to inspect their installation.

Since reverse isn’t synchronized you can easily test clutch release by idling clutch engaged, pressing the clutch pedal to the floor, allow 1-2 seconds for the trans to spin down and then immediately shift into reverse. If you get a crunch, it is not releasing in full.

Does the grinding sound make the same gear type crunch sound or is it more of a rumble? If rumble or rocks in a can noise it could be that he heavy flywheel changed the harmonics and you are hearing the gear lash more. Typically that would be more evident with a lighter flywheel vs a heavy.

I’ve been really interested in the heavy flywheel but not a lot of reviews on it. I do a bit of towing and while the 2TR takes it in stride I always think a little more torque down low would be nice and the extra inertia of a heavy flywheel just might make the difference. Would love to hear your impressions once you get it right.

The 2TR has balance shafts internal to the motor. There is no harmonic balancer mounted on the front of the crank.

Mine certainly looks like it has a rubber isolated harmonic balancer. Regardless, a harmonic balancer purpose is not to balance the rotating assembly, rather it’s function is to dampen harmonics. The flywheel needs to be balanced.

OP - what’s the word from the installer?

well I got it back they didn't tighten the pressure plate all the way so yeah but I saw the clutch flywheel and pressure plate and it's all good

Not torquing down the pressure plate is a pretty big oversight! I hope you got a partial refund or of them.

How does the heavy flywheel feel? More perceived torque down low?

Any update on how the LCE heavy flywheel performs?
