I'm getting the OME suspension lift installed. Is the front end diff drop kit necessary? The dealer wants to know if I want the front end diff drop kit installed too to correct for angles they say. They say they recommend and would do it if it was theirs but that it's not dire and if I don't, it will ride fine and be okay. But it's not too much more to have the diff drop kit installed. Is it necessary? Anyone had the OME installed and done (or not done) the diff drop kit? Thanks!

Opinions vary, but the TW concensus is it's not as useful as you'd hope on the second gen.

    Personally, I don't have one.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
I bought one when I ordered all my parts for an OME 3" lift. I did use TC upper control arms. And it became apparent I really did not meet the dif drop. Also, I didn't need the axle spacer.

My alignment was done and is near perfect and have had no issues. Ended up giving those parts away. I'd say skip it.

If you're installing dakars think about using axle shims. rule of thumb, 1 degree per inch of lift.

I installed 3 deg shims with Dakars with no bearing drop and don't have any vibes.

Try the CB drop kit yet? I have one I'm not going to use.

Sure it's not your hankooks? You could throw on some ST Maxx to be sure.

edit: Sorry - disregard, It was a driveshaft spacer kit that I didn't use.

I have 5100 bilstein and eibach 3in coil with 1.5in block in the rear on my 15 pre-runner.
I have vibration on fast take off and a bit slowing down.
Not sure if I should worry about it much.

So, it's been a few days since I had the 2" OME installed and I definitely have vibrations going on. I emailed the shop but haven't heard back yet (bc it's the weekend). What causes the new vibration after OME installation?

Make sure you don't add a poorly designed skid plate to your diff drop.

I've had my diff drop on for 4 years/60k miles no issues. CV boots look great.

How much of a drop did you do on the diff? I dropped mine about half an inch and still have vibes.

I have the Toytec differential drop. I think its 1"? The differential drop doesn't address vibrations. It specifically addresses CV angles. If you are having vibrations you need to check tire wear/balance, driveshaft angles, or needle bearing among other things.

The truck is brand new, 3,000 mile on it. It's a driveline vibe.

2" lift isn't enough to have cv angle/driveline issues. Vibrations in the drivetrain from lifting are usually only at really slow speeds and go away at highway speeds. Most likely alignment problem, with 2" lift you should've done UCA also. Maybe some idiot put the wheels back on with an impact and warped the rotors?
