No, because I don't feel like dropping $40k on a vehicle the manufacturer does not stand behind and gives "normal characteristics" bullshit.

Troll? Haha. I was all too anxious to buy MY2016. I was waiting for them to hit the dealer lots. Heck, I even bought sliders from BAMF well ahead of planned truck purchase due to the lead times. Then I get to check it out the truck - vibrations in the steering wheel. I think, ok, happens, let's try another. Vibrations in the steering wheel. Ok, let's wait for model year 2017, they will fix it, right? MY2017 comes along... vibrations in gas pedal. I am fucking done waiting, and bought a mint 2012 TX Baja.

Still have the sliders. BAMF told me they may fit 2nd gen with a slight modification. Need yet to try that, been too busy.

That's the attitude to have. Thank God the second gen never had any issues.

I wish I would have waited for the pro as well, but only cause I wish I had the cement.

Well, wtf. Now I have to wait. No new shiny for me. It would be a dumb move to buy now since I don't need it right now. Tomorrow the engine could blow, so there's always that. Darn 1998 TRD Off Road V6 Pre Runner Beast! She knew she was going to be replaced, and started running better, and looking better with every "Leaky Diff Thread Post" I read, she just seems so much better now. Thanks TW, I almost got sucked into the stealership web.

I bought a 2017 OR Super White 4x4 with premium tech package and don't regret buying at all. 38k out the door and that includes tax and tags. They gave me 16k for my 2010 OR that had 160k on it.

It did. They have been mostly worked out and/or have solutions. There is no reliable solution to the steering wheel/gas pedal vibration in the 3rd, at least to the best of my knowledge. Some trucks may be worse than others and many people apparently don't mind these vibrations.

And some people like me don't have these vibrations at all.

Good for you, glad you're happy (really). I am skeptical however it is completely vibration free, but my position on this should be irrelevant to your enjoyment of the truck.

Im on my second third gen in 3 months. Not cause anything was wrong with the first one, but because the second one was better. No vibrations. No leaks. Drives fine to me. Trans works fine. But then too I wasn't expecting something else when I bought my Taco, so I am happy with it.
    I like mine.

Coming from a 02 tacoma, I've had my 2017 OR for 4 months now and love it; only minor regret is I didn't get a manual one, the auto feels a little sluggish and took some getting used to.

Exactly. I had two second gens I bought new and both had a lot more annoyances than my 3rd gen. My 2011 was the worst. It had a low frequency rumble that could felt in the pedal at 65 under part throttle. Drive me nuts so I had to get the 2012. It was certainly better but I hated towing with it because when you get on the gas to accelerate at low speeds the driveline vibes were awful. As someone who tows every weekend in the summer this was terrible. I had to go to the dark side for a few years but find my 3rd gen completely acceptable for what it is.

Came from a 2011 GMC Sierra to 2016 DBCB SR V6 auto 4x4. 10.5 months of ownership and 13,789 miles. I had 3 first gen.s before this. I love the looks and the handling but unfortunately I have had a bad ownership experience. I exercised my state lemon law. I'm now not legally aloud to speak on an open forum about why due to papers I signed but problems were frequent and many. I should of just kept the GMC it never gave me a problem. I'm now in a F150 ecoboost only due to it was the closest dealership I could walk to plus I get a discount because my employer makes the aluminum for them. There are a lot of people that have had zero problems with the third gen. just look how many have been sold. My sister in law has had one for the last 6 months and loves it. If you having second thoughts just remember to do your research and test drive the heck out of it.

2500 miles, 0 issues. Love the truck. It gets better gas mileage than my Honda Element did (averaging 22mpg with the topper) and it's got tons of room.

Had mine for almost 9 months and put on just under 15K mi in that time. No major issues but had a crap load of PIA things that were always taken care of by the dealer without question (not sure if that is because the wife works for Toyota Canada). The only really annoying thing was how the passenger seat would vibrate like it was ready to jump out of the truck at the speeds between 55 mph and 70 mph and the speed limit here is 62 mph. I was in an accident last Monday and the insurance just confirmed that the tuck is a write off this Friday. I will not be buying a 2017 Taco but instead will be getting a left over new 2016 Frontier I found. I just couldn't pass up on the deal on the Frontier it was waaayyyyy less then a '17 Taco even with the Toyota employee discount. It was sort of fun (could have done without all the trips to the dealer) while it lasted.
