Whenever I start up my truck ( 2006 4 cylinder, 5 speed) and need to back out, I have trouble shifting into reverse, it seems like it almost shifts into the 'spot' but just not quite close far enough

Not really sure how to explain it, but it goes in once I shift to first gear, then back to reverse......anyone have any clues?

It's not an uncommon issue really, I'm not sure what causes it but my civic with a 5spd used to do it as well. Let out your clutch a little while applying pressure and you should feel it pop in all the way

If your in a driveway let it roll a couple inches to "line up" the gear

It's happened to me on every manual I have owned, shift into 3rd each time before going into reverse, I can gauarntee you won't have the problem ever again.
