I agree with the pricing, except most shops charge a large amount for DD nav units. I think I have ~$65 in the items listed in #1, from Amazon.

20hz distortion free is pretty easy in a car with almost any sub - Transfer function, FTW.

There is nothing special about the IDQ to give it low distortion - in fact, there are many better choices if distortion is a priority/is your goal. Shorting rings make a big difference...

And if you dont like the midbass driver, why not switch it out? Sounds like it is time (for you, not the OP) to go active and have some real fun.

 

I like that type R thin but it is 4 ohms and a single voice coil so i cant maximize my amp because at 4 ohms im only using 400 watts instead of the full 600 watts.

 

There wont be enough difference in volume to notice the difference between 400 and 600w.

 

Active might be the way to give me what I want but if I upgrade my stereo anymore my GF will slit my throat in the night lol. I cant imagine the nightmare that tuning such a beast would be... it would have to take months to get right. Hell, I never fully tuned my CD player once I got my bluetooth audio dialed in. My CD player is only half ass tuned over a year post install.

 

I would get 10's. I know the 13TW5's are kind of pricey, but 10's just have the ability to move faster and still put out a lot of volume.

I've spent a lot of time with 15, 12, 10, and 8 inch subs, but I recommend a good solid pair of tens! Just sayin!

I have two JL 10w3 in my truck and they are SO loud. They can handle the fastest double bass or just hip-hop. Love em.
