So I'm wanting to replace my 17 inch trd sport wheels with 16's on my 2016 taco and I'm having trouble finding a good fit. I wanted to get the pro comp le Paz but 4wheelparts said that would be a no go with the 0 offset. Would a different offset or backspace make a difference or am I doomed to keep the 17's on? Or is it just the pro comp I need to stay away from? Any input on this would help this headache.

I was under the impression a 16" wheel wouldn't fit on a Sport.

Look at Method or SCS wheels for 16". Our trucks have large front brakes and most aftermarket 16" wheels won't clear the calipers. if you want something else it would be best to look at 17" wheels.

As far as I know the brakes / calipers are the same from a TRD OR to a sport.

What's confusing me about all of this is that the trd off-road runs a 16 so I figured it would be an easy switch. The 4wheel guys said that with the la Paz 0 offset and backspace it won't work. I just want to find a decent 16 that will work. I've looked at American outlaw deputies too but I like the beedlock look.

I'd love to but those tend to be more than I want to pay.

Are you going to sell your 17" wheels?

The backspace shouldn't prevent them from fitting. They will stick outside of the wheel wells and screw up steering geometry (scrub radius), but every damned SCS and FN wheel I have seen are even worse....and many people run them. Its rather maddening that they all do this just for looks.

What about clearing the UCA with a wider tire? That right there is reason enough to have a lower backspacing.

True, but the wheels are only 0.5" wider and the offset is like 50mm (2") outboard from stock in the case of FN and SCS. Also, that 50 mm would mean it should give clearence for a 100 mm wider tire. So thats what...a 365 wide tire:). No, I think its partly just for the wide Bro stance. Then again 285+ tires are just for looks most of the time too. I just dont want to sling shit all over the side of my truck....or foul up steering geomtery...which is what negative offset and lowr backspace do.

You will be fine with zero offset, it will leave a hair of tire stick out.

So I got contacted back by pro comp and they said for sure their wheels at 16" in no way can fit with my brakes. I'm confused though because according to 4wheel's website other 16"s with the same offset and backspace but different brands can fit. Is this a brand specific thing?

What Diameter is your front disc. To me i would lump this up with putting bigger Tundra brakes on a tacoma. Which not ALL 16s will fit, some oem ones clear by a cunt hair.

?? Just a new look at your similar issue, .
