boom, found you an image (see below). If the image ever disappears on a future reader, basically search for 'rim x factor'. It's the measurement between the mounting surface and the backside of the rim face.
The La Paz rims have too small of an x factor.

Additionally, I would consider two more things:
    • When buying rims, make sure the center bore measurement matches. On Toyota, that measurement should be 106.1mm. Most rims out there are 108mm, which means you need a small shim to keep the tire centered. No thanks! I had a hard time finding anything that would have a correct x factor and also have the correct center bore, so that's why I went with SCS.
    • Consider that the market is encouraging larger rims. 17" is more popular, and you have more options. Sometimes they can be less expensive. This also effects tires, in terms of availability and cost.

It's amazing how much that image helped me understand wtf was going on. It also makes sense as to why 4wheel would recommend certain wheels that have the same offset and backspace. It's just the rim shape itself conflicted with the caliper. Scs are nice wheels, just a tiny bit outside of what I'm wanting to pay right now. I'm going to go in and talk to a 4 wheel rep in person and figure this out.

I'm really surprised the 4wheel person was smart enough to realize this. Usually that place is a pit of vipers. Vipers who aren't smart.

Check out their blemished thread! I saved about $200 on my wheels and they still look great.

Honestly I'm taking what they say with a grain of salt. Clearly 16" can fit because the OR comes stock wth them. I'm going to keep looking.

NOPE. He'll describe each one in full. Two of mine were nicks in the rim, and the other two had some sort of blemish in the paint. I could see the nicks, but only upon close inspection when I first received them in the mail. The two others with paint imperfections I couldn't tell at all. Not even looking for it.

    Wanted to give an update.

I've learned to not trust 4wheelparts whatsoever. Not only did I find 16"s that fit the brakes and my budget but I found maaaaaaany that did. I went to American tire co and they tried different ones on for me and I went with 16" -6 offset 8.5 MB's with 265/75/16 ko2's
