My truck won't start. The fuel gauge shows empty but there is gas in the tank. I'm not hearing the fuel pump come on. When I spray starter fluid, it briefly starts up. The truck has been sitting for 3 years but I've been starting it up at least once a week. Does anyone know where I can access a connector aside from lowering the fuel tank?

Should be able to reach your hand in there from underneath the bed. If not you can pull the bed off. 6 bolts and disconnect the tailight wiring from the lights and where it's plastic tabbed on the back of the bed underneath

Thanks Boss Foss, the wires appear to be fine, (no evidence of a packrat). Trying to find a common point, since its two separate circuits, I'm having trouble believing both failed simultaneously.

Check the back of your guage. (Take out cluster then separate plastic front from back to be able to pull it out). I had the nut in the pic come loose so the gas gauge read empty even though it had gas.
