They not going say nothing as long as you get fender flares to cover the tires. Then when you pau, take off the flares.

That's what I did,got me some garden flares and took um off after. My problem is if I get pulled over or safety check, which is next month for me. Rear mud flaps are needed and have to cover the tread just like the flares.

Cool thanks fellas, it's either some spindles or I'm just gonna go with a 6" procomp lift.

Check out the Fabtech lifts. I get the Procomp 6 inch. Its good. I see a lot of people with the Fabtech. Plus I think Fabtech makes 8 inch kits too. Just something to think about. Good luck.

Yea I was looking at both the fabtech and procomp kits, probably gonna be a stage 1 if I went that route. I was gonna go spindles just because I have a prerunner and everybody on here say go spindles if prerunner and go drop bracket if 4x4.

I dunno though, I get time to think about it.

Depends. Sometimes they do. Also some safety inspection places are failing people for not having it.

Howzit guys, anybody know about aftermarket bumpers? I'm on the waiting list for some Relentless Fab front and rear bumpers, hoping that doesn't make me go to that dreaded place... I dealt with them when I was in high school, still cry myself to sleep!!!

BTW I agree with the it's a hit or miss thing. I see trucks all the time no recon, kinda like tint, not to many cops carry around a measuring device(tint meter), just dont piss them off...

    Question...
I am getting my Taco ready for that four letter word "RECON" I put those ugly fender flares on and putting extended mud flaps on the back do I need to extend the mud flaps in the front? I have been told no and yes... any suggestions? Also will they say anything at recon if you only have a few screws in the fender flares?

anyone has pictures of how they mounted the garden flares? drilling required, or used the existing holes? in the process of getting mines ready also.

Use 3m double side sticky tape. Put the fender flares on when you get there. When you done, there is a shell right around the corner. Go there knock out the safety check. Drive down the road an pull off the flares. Only downside is the double sided tape. You gotta get adhesive remover an scape it off. Or use the pre existing holes an screws.

No need mud flaps for the front only the rear. And RECON is a 5 letter word.

solid! i get hook ups for safety, just need that "R" sticker when i driving by nimitz. Also, the "bounce" test, do they really do that? Icon coilovers are too stiff for the bounce test. Anyone have mudflaps I can borrow or "rent" for cash on the recon day. lol

Nah, bounce test is only for drop cars. I never had a problem yet, thank god. I drove through Waikiki an Ala Moana. But it was day time. Thats probably why.
