They won't pay much attention to sliders (they think of them as running boards/steps). I listed them on my paperwork but you don't have to. I just wrote it in on my own before they signed off on my truck.

It all depends on who inspects your truck.

You can't have any tire tread sticking out pass the flares. My truck didn't look like that when I took it in. There are .75" spacers on in that picture.

Took my wife twice to get my truck recon'd and had the same inspector. He was hitting on her the whole time and didn't really look at my truck and passed it both times.

New to Oahu from California. Already got my recon done and have the Sri let but I need to get a safety inspection now and the first place failed me for tints and the small light on my camper shell being out. Any suggestions on where to get a safety inspection done?? image.jpg

You'll have to strip your tint to get the safety. The stations use a new system where they are required to take a picture of your car so it's gonna be impossible for them to pass you with the tint on record.

And if the small light on your camper shell is the brake light up top.......you need that too.

on my 2003, I got my camper used, and the top brake light wiring was shot. I moved back home and they wouldn't pass me since that light was out. the guy even went as far as saying that if there's a spot for a light there, it has to be functioning, so I couldn't just yank the whole assembly out. not sure how true that was though... maybe he was just being a :jerkoff:

I think because all cars since the 80's need a high mount stop light and the camper obscures it so one needs to be there.

I didn't even think of that. Good call! May also just replace my tints after I get the inspection done. Gonna be a pain though

your from california i thought you couldnt have in the front windows in the first place?

front windows need to be 35% - just get it legal and be done with it. illegal tint tickets in hawaii is like 295 a window.

3rd brake light has to be working on the camper since its blocking the original 3rd brake light.
