Costco won't mount oversized tires while the rims are on the vehicle. You can bring in the rims by themselves and they will mount the tires. Liability bulls@&t.

you should just carry in the wheel and have the tires mounted at costco. Then install it on your truck on your own. In theory you will still have full warranty through costco also lifetime balance and flat repair road hazard.

Once you have them on your truck you can take your truck in to costco and do the rotations balance and flat repairs.

i used to work at costco tire shop. i told all my customers do it that way to get around the "system"

road hazard is the best in the industry

whats with COSTCO and their auto section? I keep reading about Costco auto buying and their car service, I just always thought of Costco as a whole sale food store. Can you explain some PROs that Costco offers for Automotive? such as their road hazard you mention ...

    thanks

Costco auto buying program when i left in 2013 was mainly a Costco agreement lowest Pricing at certain dealerships. TOYOTA in hawaii isnt included

Costco Tire Road hazard is a warranty thats included in all tires bought and installed at costco. flat repairs are free and are done with a patch and plug from inside of tire. if the damage is 1 inch from sidewall or on sidewall or has more then 3 plug/patches in one tire all fall into road hazard credit. Costco will pro rate the tire based on usable thread wear left on the tire and give you credit towards a new tire. so if you have 60% left on a tire and you get a blow out costco will pro rate the tire at 40% or of the cost of the tire you bought and you can use that towards a new tire. not many people know about the warranty but read the documents you get when you buy the tires at costco

Did my recon update today. Failed me on the 1st gen mud flaps. I didn't feel like arguing about where it says it has to be half way down the tire. So, quick trip to city mill. Pass recon and safety chee hoo!

I only have led drls, but they never even opened my hood, and I added supercharger and air intake to the paper too. They were more concerned about tire coverage for mine.

    I failed.
Never looked at the headlights but they were staring hard at my covered ditch lights! In the end my front windshield Was too dark at 64%. Passing is 70% with NO leeway. I just gotta remove and go back.

My lights were covered with masking tape that I had spray painted black, haha. So I guess your windshield is tinted? Time for some razor blades, windex, and a roll of paper towels. I do not envy you right now.

wait, so this is kinda off topic, but what's the rules for light bars and safety check? I have mines mounted behind the lower grill, no cover. when I throw my license plate on, it covers the middle, but there's like 5" of light bar on each side.

I don't think they will care on the Big Island.

I'm pretty sure, but, the last time I got a safety check for a lifted truck in Hilo, light bars weren't invented yet. lol

Their all over the place with what they check. I think if it seems questionable they'll check it.
