I wouldn't even mention it and I doubt they would take notice. It's not like the integrity of the frame is compromised.

Technically wouldn't this be considered cutting the frame? I would think if they noticed, they might take issue with it. But, depending on the quality of welding, they probably won't even notice. And yeah, what Vigo said, I would definitely not mention it.

If you get technical, yeah. I'm comparing it to c notching the frame, lowered guys do this to get more travel when slammed. Cut out a section of frame so the axle can tuck up in there...

The weld looks good and I painted it to match but I can't imagine some guy that does inspections every day not to notice it....especially since I had to do some trimming.

Like they know how or have the equipment to inspect welds...

It's not like you can un-do the CMC anyway, might as well go for recon and see what happens...

Just checking....I've never done recon before so I don't know how anal that are about stuff like that. I'm putting the stock wheels back on for the inspection so hopefully it gives them a reason not to look too hard.

if your bigger tires will pass with recon, you can leave em on. In the paperwork, you'll have an option to list the wheels/tires...

so if you pass with stock tires and get stopped and checked with the bigger tires on, they can revoke your recon because it's not listed..

the inspection does seem kinda silly though.

There's no way my tires could pass right now and I don't wanna put those shitty garden flares on even for a day. I don't see myself getting pulled for my tires considering some of the trucks I see on the road.

    X2!

I did go to a random place ( in Kaimuki) to get a safety check done and they pulled my recon papers to compare!

Does anyone have the updated info on recon. I looked online and can't find the PDF file. Looks like they took it off or put it somewhere else. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you

Seems like that thread says if you put projectors should be Gz but I've heard that here you can't have HID's if it didn't come stock on your car... Is this still true?

Just did my recon today after putting my stocks back on. They didn't bother to look for the cab mount chop. Went a lot easier than expected and the guy there was cool. In and out in 15 mins.

    Just note brother..

    1. If you get pulled over and the cop checks, you could still get a ticket with tires that are not the size listed on your recon paperwork (and possibly revoke your recon).. i.e.. watch out in waikiki or alamoana beach.

    2. When you go for safety, you gotta put your stocks back on.. They will most definitely check..

As long as you have a muffler and it dumps after the last operating window.
