I guess there is some new changes.

found out that a couple of weeks ago they changed the law and are now allowing C-notches as long as you box the frame...good news for the lowered crowd. Air ride suspension is also approved as long as everything is boxed.

I'm not sure on the actual dimensions of the boxing requirements, but it looks like there is some progress being made.

thats hit or miss most places. if you truck looks completely stock (no rims tires etc). a strut spacer (leveling kit) technically fails inspection and requires recon. bilstiens 5100 technically doesnt need recon since its a oem replacement and the original springs are supposedly used.

If you dont pass your safety you may as well just get recon now that safety is such a bitch. It will save you time in the long run.

Does anyone know if recon will check/pass you if you changed out the interior/license plate lights to led?

Sweet, good to know.. What about HIDs? I'm pretty sure they're illegal but not sure if you don't list it if they'll check the headlights.

recon wont turn your lights on. when you show up half crack your front windows and pop your hood. they will look for an aftermarket intake and make sure it has the proper brackets securing it down.

on the whole hid issue, if you get the asian guy he will probably point it out and not pass you. hes kind of a grouch but can be nice at times. id take them out cause if they see the ballast they may just say no pass.

yeah the asian guy had seen my ballasts but i already switched back to hologen bulbs because my hids were too bright and i felt like a dick driving everywhere blasting people. he said he could fail me just for having the ballasts... but he didn't, i still never took em out.... depends on the guys mood and your excuse i guess. he didn't want to believe my story i could tell.... but what ever i passed

Just called to schedule an apt for recon.. They said they're backed up till May, BUT then the lady asked if the vehicle is ready for inspection and I said in couple weeks it will be; she then asked like March 14 and I said ya.. Next thing you know March 14th is my apt at noon. SO I guess they're not really backed up till May lol

If you add on sliders, I don't suppose you have no redo recon correct?

What have you done to your truck lately
It's good to update recon file so everything will be there if you ever get pulled over. Cost nothing to update recon.

K.. but on the paperwork is it notated as sliders?? Does most people list theirs as "additional equipment" or anything? I had the OME steps when I did my recon, but didn't even notate "steps".

    Too long to list :D
If you have time, I'd add them. You write on the form what they are, so you can call them sliders if you want. Every safety place I have talked to have said they call them steps so they don't care if their on the RECON. But a stingy inspector might not like welded on sliders uses their on the RECON.
