any body that missed out on the group buy and wants a set for a 01-04 extra cab or dbl cab short bed Shoot me a PM. Have a set on island now, small mix up and i'm getting second set so these are up for sale for price i paid, no mark up.

Got my sliders the other day

Dropped them off at Spray Liner Hawaii

But despite me telling Chris to leave a few inches bare so that I could have them welded, he sprayed the whole thing.

Took me 40min on each set removing the liner and acid etch primer, used a grinder and made a mess till I figured out the easiest way to get this stuff off. Hot knife, then peel off, then wire brush for the primer.

Taking them to Mark at Plan B Fabrication tomoro morning to get welded on.

^^^^ $300 but I'm glad I used him, after trying to remove the liner off the ends, that shit is on there good and thick. Also he does a quick turn around. If you go somewhere else, The acid etch primer is a must, the liner sticks to it mean!

After researching thoroughly, I went with a liner to coat them, any liner with the equivalent chemical structure as Line X is what you want. It actually makes the slider stronger, considerably more impact resistant and encases the steel from deterioration from the elements. Check out myth busters and Line X govt site, they use this stuff for bomb resistance, once it is on it absorbs alot of energy. I've easily got over an 1/8" and even if I'm sliding on rocks, they make a touch up can you can hit the scrapes up with.

Dave, I'll leave the straps with Mark today at Plan B Fabrication, should be welded on by this afternoon. I'm stoked, Mark is a good fabricator and a really nice guy, if you guys need to get welded he's the man, I'll post pics tonight after picking up my truck of his welds on my sliders.

FYI, called Pamalu today and they quoted me $100 for coating the sliders. Acid etch, spray on BL.

 

Just wondering, since you guys are bedlining the sliders, are you going to go back and get the welds touched up with the bedliner when its finished? Oh, and how do you touch it up to get the same thickness of material if you scrape 'em?

Ok picked up my truck yeasterday with everything welded on.









The kickout sticks out pretty far (wasn't expecting that far), but once my lift and tires are on I think it will look good, and door dings will be a thing of the past. These sliders are super tough and Mark at Plan B Fabrication put these things on good, they're on there.

Everyone wanting to get their stuff coated, call Kalico at Pamalu and tell him Dave referred you. He initially thought $100 range, but after spraying mine, it came out to $200 complete! Still a killer deal.

Eric - Dunno if this is a dumb question, but do you have instructions for the bolt on install?

 

Right on! This is a hell of a bargain (sliders+shipping) for Hawaii members. Reputable beefed up sliders from a cool guy.

I haven't written out directions for the no drill bolt on yet, but can try to do so here shortly.

 

I did a test fitment today. I guess I just gotta figure out where the straps connect to. I'm guessing remove crossmember bolt on bottom of chassis, supplied washers go on the outside facing surface, square backing plate on inside of frame, use loc-tite, drilling holes in bottom of frame optional......

My only problem other than knowing where to attach the straps and where the long bolts go is.....the bolts for the crossmember:chassis is no longer long enough to grab thread once the sliders are in place.
