Black is so nice when clean. I had a 91 black and chrome extra cab back in the day when I was young and had time.
Tons of good stuff out there and I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions, ceramic coating is the new hot thing but kinda pricey.
For me, start with a good surface, a simple wash, polish and then wax regularly works for me but I only buy white now.

    Aloha,
If you're on Oahu. Check out Street Shine LLC. They have an account on FB and check out the many options available to you.
I would've stated Ceramic Coating, but it's changed so much as newer technology and product development improves. Street Shine LLC. Currently uses the latest ceramic coating called "JADE."
IMO, It's been worth it with the harsh elements our trucks get for living in paradise: surf, sun, beaches, and off-roading.
I hope this helps you and congratulations on your new truck.
    Mahalo,

Yes, Sir! 18JAN18 Tacoma after driving off the lot. Most recently, 23JUL20. Also, on 18MAY18 T4R after driving off the lot. Most recently 24JUL20. Jade for both.
Was it worth it? Fu(k yeah
Notice the gap in year, as I was kind of pissed learning some shit about ceramic coating, and after doing my research, I jumped in again and redid it.

Follow the instruction they should've given you and never use aggressive products to polish the coating or remove surface contamination, excessive force to remove spots—bird droppings, etc. Use a neutral pH balance soap when washing your truck. If you take your truck to SERVCO for your free oil change for the first 24 months of ownership. Do not let them wash it as it's not with a pressure washer, but the ones you see at gas stations and rental car lots.

I live in Cali and always around the ocean, scratches plus salt don’t mix... repainted once but still get oxidation... Dk if u can truely get away from ocean damage I just mark it up as maintenance. Next thing I’m gonna try is wrapping the truck :D Seems legit since I’ll be able to change colors

Turtle wax seal and shine u can find easily at Walmart do a search on YouTube it basically beats everything out there in short of an actual ceramic coating.

From Scott HD's tests on Youtube, Turtlewax Ice, and NuFinish are the closest to a ceramic/graphene coating for water sheeting. On UV protection, they do advertise it but testing shows negligible performance. Ceramic/graphene is the best you're gonna get for UV.

Hopefully Toyota isn't still using the same paint as their 2nd gens cuz from what I see on the road, alot of the faded trucks are black. Anywho, I wouldn't worry. Enjoy your truck.

Just FYI cuz even a coating isn't ideal for UV. If you leave your truck out all day, the paint will fade faster no matter what compared to a garage or even a car canopy tent. That's your best options by farrrr
