At least they aren’t competing for how many tools they can bolt to their roof top tent, right?

I appreciate the hard work and pride that go on these and every type of build. Either if it’s for cruising around malls or just SEMA type builds or real world I am going to travel the world in my Tacoma with a toilet and hot shower built into my camper type of builds.

It’s fun stuff! Otherwise we would all be sitting around reading dealer brochures of Tacomas.

Not really my taste but there are TONS of them everywhere you look. Of course the Tacoma to any other car ratio in Hawaii is ridiculous so it would be expected.

Oh, forgot to add that a lot of them are 2WD Also. Pretty much it’s all for the looks. Over here, if you going spend that kind of money to make your truck look good, no way is that baby going to see any mud or watering holes!

People think it looks nice, also pulls you a baby mama.

They actually do very well on our offroading trails -- high COG doesn't matter as much as people on here make it out to be especially when you're stanced. 'Tis nice to just bould over anything without a spotter since nothings touching your 10" lift though. And no one needs to worry about "rubbing" or "UCAs" cuz DB and high lift. 90% of the tacos here don't even see a dirt road

Why Tacomas specifically and not some other truck? There is a perception here that they hold their value better than anything else, and that reflects in the local used market. Vehicles also don't last nearly as long here as they do in the mainland, often being thrown away around the 150K mark. So Toyota's reliability rep plays a part as well.

It's funny because we ask the same thing about mainland Tacomas[IMG]

Different strokes for different folks. We can’t all have the same taste. Personally, I dig the look.

Everyone has their own taste. And it happens that some people’s taste is shit. I think the “tactical zombie apocalypse” look so many have, with every tool known to man hanging off the truck, and gun cases and RTTs stacked all over the top of their $40K kid mover can get pretty face palmy too. But the Hawaiians still easily win the most ridiculous award.

HI has lots of places to off-road.

Only problem is you need a truck that will withstand 3000*F or more. No need to worry about recovery gear.
