Just once in my life I'd like to see how they get into one of those.

Funny, back when I lived in HI in the early 90s it was all about slammed mini trucks. They were actually quite cool. Seems they've gone 180 degrees in the other direction now. Either way, hey, it's all about car culture. Be glad it's alive.

Frankly, if there's a community of Taco owners who do these kinds of mods and enjoy their trucks - great by me. I don't have to understand it, or even want to do it to my truck, but it's cool to see something different every now and then. Not every Tacoma needs bed bars and an RTT to be legit.

My only question to anyone with these trucks: What's the flex on that suspension like? Can you actually use all that travel?

In case I missed it, is there a purpose for the narrow tire, wide wheel setup other than looking ridiculous , I mean radical ? As retarded as I think some of these look, I can appreciate them making fun of all the tacticool mainland guys. The thread has been quite entertaining.I guess both sides can probably unite and agree on GoPro mounts.

    I went to o Riley's today.
There was a first gen 4 runner totally Cherried out, candy apple red, with a 4' lift ,and a boom box blasting. I was rolling my eyes, like ...REALLY
The kid ( about 6'4"), got out and headed towards the door, same time as me.
He was a few steps ahead of me, so I paused to let him go first.
He, opened the door and held it open for this old faka.

Bravo man. That’s rad. I love the lit-up wheels. Very cool, and I’m not being sarcastic. And kudos for ticking so many boxes in the poll, including “anodized suspension”.

    Lo-pro mud tires? Check
    Chrome rims? Check
    Anodized suspension? Check
    Wheels wider than tires? Check
    Huge stance? Check
Bob Marley CD? (I assume so!)

Not gonna lie this one looks pretty slick. Little much but overall looks good. I absolutely hate all black wheels. So glad my TRD off road has some machined finished.

Black wheels are the ‘tribal tattoos’ of TW. Everyone got ‘em all at once.

    I’m on the Big Island.
No parks or anything recreational compared to what the mainland offers.

few do overland style rigs - but it don’t work for me. MANY do what the OP has originally shown.

Idk, I just don’t care too much. Been in the car/truck scene wayyyy too long and everyone has their own taste. With that said, even if you don’t like someone’s build or vehicle, there’s always that ONE thing you actually like about it.

I’m a shore caster, and bed mount tents don’t work when you catch a strike in the middle of the night and you need to run to your pole to fight the fish. So I guess I’m kinda ish overlandish lol. I just do what suites my needs

    anyways, here’s my 3rd on 35s

wish I had more offroad pics.. but as I got older, I just don’t wanna jump out of the truck and waste time anymore haha

I can appreciate what these folks have done, even if it's not my cup of tea...

I must say it would be a breeze to work on anything under the truck though, with all the lift and lights.
