I used small self tappers to hold things in place until I was ready to start welding

 

Heres a picture from the other side. My coat shielding the sparks from entering my cab.

 

I did a lot of relief cuts and folded the sheetmetal back. I tried using as much of the original metal as I could before filling back in with 16g metal

 

Slow and steady... The welding of this stuff flat sucks!! Not to mention the fire hazard in the cab. I didn't take any pictures of the inside but removing the carpet, lower dash and and as much wiring as possible is key. Even then I had two fire extinguishers ready for the worst. I had one small fire and after that I hated every minute of welding. I had a guy watching in the cab the whole time. Lots of wet towels on the floor made all the difference. Also having a air nozzle to help cool the welds kept things from getting to hot.

 

Damn man that's some serious cutting, cant wait to see it done!!

 

So after hours, and hours of work it ended up working out.

I still rub the frame at full turn, but Ill live with that over putting wheel spacers in. Remember this is only a mid travel kit so my up travel isn't as much. Ill know more once I get it in the hills though. So far I haven't rubbed anywhere else. Either way I don't mind a little rubbing when Im bound up.

 

Next up is my crawl box...... Suppose to be here this month! After all Ive only had it on order for a year now

 

How much room do you have at full stuff? have you tested it out yet?

 

No not yet. If I hit anywhere its gonna be at the top of the fender well now

Nice work, looks like a pita. I want to go bigger, but not wanting to deal with tubbing will keep me from doing it for a while.
