    Hey Gang,
I have been researching a new HU for my '11 and considering doing the install myself despite never having done it before. I was wondering if anyone had repositioned their hazard switch to one of the blanks, or somewhere else and not reinstalled the hazard/clock assembly. Since a new HU will obviously have a clock feature, I am wondering if that whole unit is necessary, as long as the hazard button gets repositioned somewhere else. Is the airbag/seatbelt light something that HAS to be displayed in order for the system to function properly?
Is there a dash kit that would hold a DD unit AND have a small cubby hole in place of the hazard/clock assembly-similar to the cubby that comes with a single din size stereo dash kit? I tried searching for a similar thread, but I apologize if I missed it and am duplicating previously answered questions. Thanks for any help.

Your idea wont work. No product like you describe because it wont work. So drop it and move on. Its one piece, you cant reposition the button alone, and its the brains for the airbag control/defeat.

X2 I have had my clock/airbag light assembly disconnected and the air bag fault light stayed lit in the gauge cluster. It might be possible but you are looking at some serious custom fab not worth it sorry.
