Small update: i tried the dash cam in the wifes car and heard no noticeable difference in her radio quality. Maybe my radio is more sensitive to it. Ill email the website and ask for any suggestions.

I just saw this thread and I just wanna say If your thinking about getting one DO IT. I have had a similar dash cam for a while and It's saved my ass twice and someone elses once. If you ever get into an accident or someone does anything to your car you will have the evidence and the plate # that you need. Once I was driving in traffic and a tractor trailer didnt set his air brakes and rolled back into my truck. The truck driver tried to deny it was his fault and said he didn't roll back. I would have been screwed if I didn't have the dashcam. It will eventually pay for itself.

Also this style is much better than a go pro. I havent changed the settings or touched mine at all in over a year. You don't even notice it's there but it's recording everything. I thought about using my gopro too but this is much better option and the auto on and auto off features as well as the auto overwrite make it worth it.

One more Thing, I don't recommend turning off the sound. Another Time I was driving in a snow storm and some kids in a honda civic paintballed my car (before i had my tacoma) (can't make this shit up). my camera wasnt able to catch the plate # but I read It out loud to the camera and I was able to listen to it later and give it to the cop.

Just an update of my own after having this camera for a while now ...... The good about it is the size. It's about the size of a radar detector. The auto erase feature is nice and it shoots decent video during bright sunny days. The bad ...... Is built crappy. The adjustments never stay tight, they always loosen up after a few days and I have to retighten them cause the camera moves. The buttons used on the screen and sometimes hard to press in and don't always work everytime I hit one. The two lights on the top, one for power and one for recording, only seem to come on half the time. It shoots really grainy picture at night time and gets much worse at night in the rain. It shoots terrible picture when the light is constantly transitioning from light to dark. Example, on a trail ride during a sunny day when light comes through the trees sometimes and sometimes the trees cover up the sun. The camera takes a few seconds to transition it's light and by the time it does, the outside light has already changed so the camera is in a constant state of transtion. It is really that bad!! I thought it would also provide as another way to capture off-road video on trails, other then the gopro, but I was very wrong.

Overall it's cheaply made and has a few major flaws but the camera works great in traffic on sunny days and will capture a good enough picture at night and rainy days. Is it worth it for the money ....... possibly. Would I buy another one ........ probably not. Cheap electronics never last

Well, so far I'm pretty disappointed with this camera. My main gripe is the file type the camera uses. The videos are .AVI, but the sound and the video are divorced. I use two different pieces of software for my video editing, Imovie and windows movie maker. Imovie is a no go due to the divorced audio in that the file won't even open. Movie maker will let you import the file but once you start cutting it up the file corrupts itself.

I'm open to suggestions, but judging by the lack of response in this thread I'm guessing I won't get any.

I will be investigating a different camera and ditching this one.

I looked for an option on the camera that would allow me to change the file type. If there is an option for that I couldn't find it.

The picture quality is decent, but if I can't "easily" edit the video it's worthless.

Hey guys, back, sorry to hear about the issues you're having. You can contact the seller directly through the website for any concerns. Although I think his original intent was to have a simple dvr cam. Most people don't usually edit the video much. As for me I don't even know what you mean by the audio/video being divorced? I only do basic editing to shorten the video or combine various edits. I still use mine everyday and haven't had any issues yet. But then again I don't do much to it. I just turn it on, let it record, then turn it back off when I don't need it. But your reviews are helpful, so maybe the seller can chime in for you.

Thanks for the reply Alex. I'm trying an experiment before I go back to the main seller. I've turned off audio recording to see how that changes the file.

I want to be able to use the video for trail runs as well as an accident cam so being able to edit the video is important. I'll report back with my findings.
