Would it be a huge deal to just notch the hanger a half inch to free up some room where the hanger is hitting?Considering the oem ones are completely open, I cant see it being a problem. Would be a lot easier to do that on the bench then on the truck though.

No it wouldn't be a big deal at all. anyone that's having contact issues we be getting a replacement set of shackles they will just have to email me so i can keep track of the leaf packs these have issues with.

I see the shackles are up on the website http://www.bayareametalfab.com/2005-to-2018-Tacoma-HD-shackle_p_91.html . Is there going to be different variations to choose eventually? Will this variation work with Dakar leaf pack?

At risk of showing I don’t know what I’m talking about: I wouldn’t trim anything without explicit approval from @JLee first if you expect to get a replacement set. I know he just said it wouldn’t be a big deal, but I took that more from a structural point of view than anything. My guess would be he would want the original shackles back, free of modification in exchange for a replacement.

But again, I don’t know what I’m talking about here. Trying to save anyone from cutting up a product thinking they’ll get a replacement just to find out they’re mistaken.

Looks like some contact. Is this after stuffing your rear tires? What rear shock setup do you have? I have the expos too but haven’t installed the hangars/shackles yet.

I would be cutting the hanger itself. So if the shackle is still rubbing on it afterwards then a replacement would still be in order. Additionally he did say the shackle may need to be ground as that may be a problem after welding. I already assumed that if I cut it I won’t be getting a replacement. However I need a new hanger, I just spent a shit ton on getting these to my house in Canada, and so I will make them work. I would probably have to pay return shipping anyways. Joys of living in my neck of the woods. Would have been nice if these were a straight forward bolt in, but with the variety of springs you can only do so much. Always a bit of leg work on the installers part. What can you do.

    Thanks!

    Also @JLee 2 questions.

1.can you tell me what the thread is on the zerks for the shackles?

    2. what thread are the bolts attatching the hanger to the frame suppose to be? Want to make sure hardware is consistent as I don’t remember if the bolts or the nuts were wrong.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

    The Zerks are 1/4x28
And the bolts to the frame are 1/2x13
