Im doing some QA/QC for work using our new HDS Scanner, and thought what the hell, for kicks and giggles why not window in my rig and see what she looks like back in the office.

Here's a couple quick screen caps of what I saw and thought I'd share:

What I'd like to know, is WTH is that return on the passenger side of my rear bumper? [IMG]

There's NOTHING THERE when you look at it, but there's definitely something being returned to the scanner, and its not just a shape, as there's way too much definition to it.

It could be a multi-path effect from the dihedral formed between the chrome and the license plate bulb housing.

Very cool, the company i work for, www.feldman3d.com , does a ton of laser-scanning. I've often wanted to park my truck strategically so it would be included in a scan.

I'm not sure what is going on with the bumper, I mainly deal with setting up the horizontal and vertical control for larger scale, multi-setup jobs, rather than post-processing the scan data.
