I've got a 96 tacoma LX, it had radiator damage due to contact with a deer. previous owner filled the radiator with water, and never got around to adding proper coolant, since the radiator needed replaced. so it froze hard, and seems to have blown the head gasket. We purged the water from the cylinder. Oil changed, and it dropped something over 3 gallons of oil due to water having gotten into the oil. Amazingly it cranked and ran with all of that liquid in the engine.

Seems to run fine now for short period of time with no water in the engine. No smoke, starts easy, sounds good (other than a hole in the muffler).

I'm getting ready to tear into this and inspect the head, and replace valve stem seals and head gasket, along with new radiator, and radiator mount. Oil was changed on this engine religiously, and I am hoping to find no major problems once I get the head off.

I've got factory service manual, have watched a bunch of videos, and seen most of the things to be leery of with this particular job. Looks easy enough, though time consuming.

Since I don't want to do this 2x, I was wondering if anyone could give advice on particular gasket set to use? I'm looking at this AJUSA set from rock auto. Comes with 2 year warranty, which is better than the other aftermarket ones I've found. Are the OEM head gaskets really that much better? They are certainly 5x the price! Any other aftermarket gaskets I should look at? Toyota is not showing the head bolts being available, so I am planning to also get the AJUSA head bolts from rock auto, since they have better warranty than the others available.
