    Hey everyone,

Currently getting my heads rebuilt on my 4 cylinder. I'm looking for information on what would need to be replaced. Does anyone know of a good product to buy when it comes to gaskets and which ones to get?
I believe fel pro has some kits that could be the ticket?
Also it was recommended the chain guides be replaced but how many are there and is there a kit that contains the guides?
    Thanks for your help everyone!

At least for the 3RZ, toyota sells a kit that contains every gasket, oring and other widgets needed to do the job. Thats what I used and it came out great.

I was warned against fel-pro head gaskets and the cost savings wasn't enough to take the risk.

Other than that, if anybody recommends using roloc disks to clean the block, don't do it. They break apart into very abrasive microscopic bits that can ruin the rest of your engine.

Got all my stuff at adams toyota in lees summit.

Yea I've been seeing a few kits when it comes to seeing what to buy such as from rock auto. Only thing I'm finding though is that for the chain guides I gotta get the chains as well which my mechanic mentioned don't need to be replaced.
    I thought fel-pro was a good brand?

I used nothing but Fel Pro head gaskets for all of my GM and Ford Built Vehicles before I owned a Toyota. Never had a problem with them. Are they good for Tacoma's, I really can't say.
