Regarding my 2015 Taco PreRunner's head unit. I have an issue of it shutting down and then turning back on when I am connected with blue tooth. I have downloaded and updated the radio firmware. I have used different blue tooth devices (phones) and the same issue keep occurring. When no blue tooth is connected, the head unit works as it should. Has anyone been experiencing anything like this. Besides replacing the head unit is there another fix?

You used different phones, but we’re they all iPhones?

    Philrab,

Yes, they are all Iphones. That is all I own. This only began a few months ago, prior to that I did not have any issues.

Mine will reboot randomly while driving down the road, but only happens once every couple months and everything returns to normal as soon as it reboots.

    This is with iPhone 8

I’d recommend you unpair the phone from the truck, forget the truck from your phone, delete your phone out of the truck’s settings, then repair fresh. Some have had success with that, basically a clean sweep on both devices.

    Philrab,

Thank you for the advice. After deleting the phone from my head unit's list and forgetting the head unit on the phone. I paired it back up and discovered that my phone had gone through an update and added two categories in the phones Bluetooth settings. iPhone added Groups, Phone Favorite and Phone Recent. I unchecked these two options and my head unit began functioning as it should, no longer shutting down and rebooting every 2 minuets. I've added a screen shot.

Glad it worked. I bit the bullet and updated to iOS 13.4, did the above, and haven’t had any issues.

I just checked and I have my recents and favorites synced, and still no issues. Might be worth a shot.
Or leave it if it doesn’t bother you.
