I've looked on the forum & cannot find an fix for this. When I'm sitting in the truck listening to the radio before work, so the smart key is in accessory, it's dark out, headlights are off, truck isn't running, can you get the display to black out or at least dim a lot. Lights up the inside of the truck at night, feel like I'm on display, just want to kick back & relax before work. Is the only fix to toss my drying towel over the dang thing?

I have the JBL system. You can change it in the settings. Not sure what you have.

Yes, you can turn the display off.
On the home screen, in the upper right corner, select the gear. You will see a option to turn off the display.

That's what I thought, but it doesn't do anything on mine, no matter running or not. Maybe my system is defective, due for the last free oil change,I'll have them look at it. Thanks for the help,I'll post what happens at the dealer.

Thanks again to you both, I've figured it out. I was turning the screen off on settings but I'd get blue screen that lit up the interior just as bad so I thought it was for something else, I just had the mid level unit. Then I remembered I could set up custom screenshots & on my cell phone I'd have a black home screen so it wasn't so bright at night. So I snapped a shot with my phone camera lens covered, loaded it into the head unit, selected it & it's a black screen now when I hit screen off button. The only issue I had was loading the picture, can't just drop a jpeg in it, you have to create & name a folder, put the jpeg in that then you can see it when you load it into the unit.
