Head unit for 2ND Gen

Hey guys, im new here and just also picked up an 08 Tacoma but wanted to change the head unit. Do you guys have any recommendations, im not really sure where to start.

 

Your best bet is start looking on Crunchfield. Plug in your info and start searching what fits your needs.
I’ve been looking leisurely for the past two weeks, haven’t pulled the trigger yet though.
Lots of options on that website for our trucks.

I put in a Pioneer 4200NEX with plug and play harnesses and Maestro Steering wheel controller. Buy the metra face plate adapter instead of Scosche, the scosche trim ring wont stay put

 

I put in a Kenwood DDX 394 from Crutchfield in my 2007, works great and bought the prewgired harness.

Armed with that info, visit some local shop(s) to listen to various options, and decide what sounds good to you.
