Tranny rebuilt 12/2016 at 142,500 Pioneer deh-p400ub head unit Alpine spr-69c fronts Alpine 17c rears. Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp JL sub behind seat Upper console solder fix Recall: Rear leaf's 12/2016 To Do List: JVC KW-V820BT with Backup cam Zelwig Helper Spring Clazzio Dark Gray seat covers /heat Viper alarm w/ Starter Then drive to 250,000 miles!
well...head unit has been in pioneer deh-p400ub

speakers are now in... alpine spr-69c and spr-17c (100 rms)

so....sounds way better than stock thats for certain...if you just want to upgrade without breaking bank I'd say head unit and decent speakers will surfice. ($450.00 so far)

after a few hours riding around aimlessly along ocean two things are obvious....(for my liking)

    1) need to sound deaden doors... back wall also.(raamat) I knew this on my 1st trek down the freeway at 90 mph...LOL a few weeks ago
    2) unless the deadening is a cure for the common cold( hope it has a huge impact)....I will need an amp under seat.
    (Alpine pdx-4.100 or Pioneer prs-pm4200?)

So for MY learning experience I will do doors 1st with back wall... ride for a while and see what impact that has on overall sound of my little system.

After that... step up and get an amp if I still need for my liking.
Hope this helps anyone who is just looking for a simple lower budget upgrade.
    Later,
    dude

Sounds like good way of doing it. I'll tell you that from going to aftermarket speakers to owning aftermarket AMPED speakers, things CAME TO LIFE. It wasn't all about volume, too. I could carry on a conversation up until I lost my train of thought and said, "wow, since when did this song have that instrument?" You rediscover music. I had to dump half my mp3's because I could now hear the difference in the encoding. I got sick of some rap songs and started listening to acoustic stuff because I could hear the hands on the guitar.
