I have about 250 songs loaded on a USB stick but when plugged into USB in the truck it shows over 800 songs.

    What am I doing wrong?

I did try to search to figure this out but no luck...

It could depend on how the files are tagged. I took my music folders from iTunes and the unit will use all those tags. Not exactly sure why you are getting that count, but the tagging can be very confusing.

    Not sure this helps either.

Well, briefly, every music file has "tags" accociated with the file. Things like Artist, album name, song title, album art, composer, genre, and maybe others. It's possible that some of these tags are creating a multiple listing for your files. It can be pretty confusing trying to sort this stuff out and change the tags. I would probably just leave it alone unless you are comfortable with the computer stuff. Can you get to your music on the unit by using the Album, Artist, or Song sort options. If so, just live with it. I have about 4000 songs on a mini 32G stick and it seems to work very well. When I have an issue of not being able to find something I know I put on the stick, I go and find it manually and check the tag info.

i load songs/LPs off YOUTUBE but you need to convert them to MP3 format. I use this link http://convert2mp3.net/en/ , you got to highlight and copy the youtube link, and then paste to the converter link and then CONVERT then DOWNLOAD it a popup comes up on my computer asks SAVE AS I click it and save to USB.its a little tricky at first but its f**king great free music.

I used my iTunes media folder with all the music in it. Just move the artist files you want by "copy and paste" on a computer. The head in the truck will find and read all the files, and play your music.
