Do you guys know of a head unit that has navigation that will “multitask”? I like being able to listen to music through the stock head unit and have my “external” GPS on the side so I can look at it or turn the stereo down if I need to hear some directions.
Will any head unit (with navigation) let me play music and have the GPS chime in and interrupt the music when I have a turn coming up? Or are they either a GPS or a stereo and cannot do both at the same time?

Also, I am thinking about getting one (with the navigation add-on) of these…

Does anyone here have one and if so, what do you think about it? Pros, cons?

    TYIA! :)

My kenwood Interrupts on the front channels And continues to play in the rear. I would think that they would all do that.

SwingCase, driver side. PVC Bike rack. Aftermarket stereo.
My Alpine interrupts to let you know where to go, then back to music.

I had that unit for a little bit (no nav add on for it), sold it and picked up an Alpine. The unit was OK, but I didnt like the button layout, the CD Slot showing, or the smaller screen.

A good unit, but I was being picky.

The Sony does the same thing. The nav chimes in, but you can mute it. I find the bitch rather long winded, and chiming in too often,,,a bit of a buzz kill...so I mute her. But other times I appreciate her chiming in.

My kenwood interrupts, but I turned that off. Pretty annoying. I can listen to music and see where the map is telling me to go without having to hear a mechanical voice tell me to turn left.
