Thanks I need to look into these O2 simulators and stuff now. Where is a good source for the DT headers just order direct from DT?

Urd racing you could also get the o2simulators An if I'm not mistaken you get a disount on the 02 sim when you purchase the headers from them

The rasp isnt to bad only at about 4500rpms. I'll most likely stay with shortys if the torque gains aren't really that different

    Ive used urdusa.com

U should get a mil discount... call them and mention that u heard they offer said discount.

Honestly id call and hit extension 3 and speak to gadget first... i forgot the 02 simulators had issues with some newer trucks. Get his input on that before you drop coin. Run the mil discount question by him.

Also get the crush washers he offers.

    Since when? o_O

My Y-Pipe on my Taco is well behind the Transmission...

My Headers, as expected, bolt onto the motor... they then dump into exhaust pipes, run through catalytic converters, through more exhaust pipe, and eventually reach the Y-Pipe, which then dumps into more exhaust pipe until it hits the muffler, then through more pipe, and then exits the pipe into the atmosphere.

Thanks it's going to be a bit as my job is kinda iffy right now I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row so to speak. I enjoyed the bennifits I got out of the LCE header on the 4cyl so looking at going this route when I can. And Thanks for the heads up on the discount

Op made it sound like he thought this mbrp exhaust he wanted may not work with the headers.... the headers dont touch any off the shelf exhaust (catback) directly.

If u want to split hairs, the exhaust starts at the exhaust valves

If you do URD Long Tubes - you'll have to delete your front set of Catalytic Converters (unless you have someone weld them back in someplace). This means you'll need the O2 Simulator (which should work on your 2006).

Note however, that URD's headers are known to create some rasp in the exhaust that often pushes people to install a Resonator. Ask me how I know. ;)

Yes, exhaust does start at the exhaust valves.

None of this explains why you're suggesting headers bolt to the Y-Pipe though.

Yep I just looked at the DT and the URD headers and the long tubes delete the first set of cats so I'm going to have to see what will work here with inspections. We don't have emissions where I live so they may be ok

correct, bye bye 1st set of cats.... This is why the rasp can increase. With a stock ypipe (which as I showed bolts to the headers lol) the rasp may not be as bad because the 2 cats on the stock ypipe act as tiny resonators.

If you plan to do a SAS setup don't get long tube headers as they don't fit. Just a heads up.

As far as I've been able to find out all of them. The upper link goes right where the passenger side cat would be. Seen it with DT, Urd, etc. I settled with DT shorty headers and a custom exhaust.

I find it hilariously amusing you took the time to video the underside of your truck.

So, out of respect for your time, I'll do the same.

    Here ya go:

Please excuse the fact that my truck isn't spotless underneath. I go to places like Moab. ;) lol
