Headers - better mpg?

    yeah i guess i could see some people think that way. my girlfriend probably would she doesnt use her head much.

    Im not trying to argue, well maybe a little but there is slight mpg increases with bolt on mods. (some) not none. right?

    he obviously didnt get it for the mpg. its icing on the cake. which is a BONUS.
    you said you recieve no mpg increase.

    EDIT: i know it would be a waste to do it if you were just in it for the MPG

    thats the best thing to do, the urd maf really brought everything together, i am very impressed. when i had DTLT and afe intake and exhaust it was faster than stock on top end (butt dyno) but the urd maf really opened it up after 3.5k rpm and smoothed it out

    I just put JBA shorty weld on header on my 2010 4.0 and immediately felt the gains. I also have a KN cai and a power aid TB spacer. True it's much debate that the only thing the TB spacer does is whistle, but it whistles much more now due to the restrictive stock headers being removed. The stock headers came out to an oval shaped 2 1/4" pipe then reduced down into the cat to less than 1 7/8". Very restrictive. Now that I had a lil custom weld work, the headers go into the cat at 2 1/4" all the way. I feel the increased power and I have a difference at the pump as well. I do the formula where you take the gallons you fill the tank up to divided by miles. Went from 17-20 mpg to 18-23 mpg. Damn good for a V6 truck if you ask me. I haven't checked the hwy milege yet, but I am interested to see what the outcome there is. Also noticed that before 80 mph I would be at 2500 rpm in an automatic, no I have 2500 rpm at 90 mph. Don't judge my driving habits, I still get passed on us 202 and I 95. So the combination of all my bolt on mods makes these differences, but the headers make the hugest impact compared to the very restrictive stock components. I was gonna do a before and after dyno, but watched utube vids of dyno's gone bad.
