Just curious if there is a good camping spot near water along the trail?
I read that you can camp along one of the creeks, but didn't know if there was any water in them.
Our goal was to camp at Alpine Lake Friday night, run a portion or all of the trail, and then camp Sat night out on the trail.
I know a group just went up there and was hoping for some advice from folks that have recently run it, as I've never been there.

    Thanks
    Bill

Sub'd. I too want to head up there. But my guess is that there isn't water in any stream this time of year; esp considering the drought.

So my father and I are thinking about running this trail. The downside is that his truck is only on 31.5" tires with a 3" lift. He does have the factory E-locker since he has the 2014 TRD. Think he can make it? Maybe at least some of the way, then he can double up with me?

If he has some armor I would give it a shot. At least sliders.

Sweet pic, How far along is that spot?
Normally I would just go out there and wing it, but we have several trucks coming along with wives/GF etc so I'm trying to appear like I have a plan

This spot isnt to far in. I could see a stock truck making it this far, but may scrape a few times

It's an awesome place. There is another trail down the road. It's called corral hallow. Love the trail. It's easier.

Hit up slick rock and then the deer valley trail. This will make it a full weekend trip.

Deer valley is much harder then slickrock so be prepared. 4 out of the 5 armored trucks there last month got body damage.

Corral Hollow is long and boring, a stock-rig trail. Good for beginners, though, and a nice view at the top.

SourGrass trail is along highway 4 as well. Short, dead-end trail with a little more difficulty than Corral Hollow. Its the adopted trail for the Gettin' Off 4wd club.

Very true, but that's what its make fun. Sliders, skids, and good spotting is all you need.

Yea, if you need an excuse to get a HC rear bumper, take that deer valley trail. I ordered mine that following Monday.
