    Hi All,

I have noticed that my headlight assemblies are beginning to bubble as is a common issues in some 2nd gen Tacomas. The issue is as a result of my daytime running lights. I have contacted my local Toyota dealership to take a look at it tomorrow morning. I know that an extended warranty bulletin was posted by Toyota, however it expires in November of this year I believe. My issue is only in its infancy, with minor bubbling apparent on one of my DTRL's. What I am concerned about is that the issue is going to get worse, and I want to get it looked at before the coverage expires. Does anybody have any advice as to how to proceed at the dealership to show them my issue, even though it isn't major at this point? Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    John

Doesn't need to be major. Just needs to be damaged.

So I went in to my local Toyota dealer, and they told me that unfortunately the warranty doesn't cover Canada. The bulletin issued by Toyota is for Toyota USA only, and as such the warranty is not applicable up here.

What I don't understand though is why? My VIN is eligible under the Toyota Warranty Bulletin, and the vehicles in Canada would no doubt have the same issue. Why would I not be covered by this? Is there any way to get this addressed? Do any of you guys have experience with this?!

Not necessarily a bad idea - I'd have to take a look to find one at a border town haha

So I spoke to Toyota USA, and a Toyota dealer across the boarder, and they cannot perform any warranty work on a Canadian vehicle. As such, I can't just drive over the border to have the work done. Does anybody know of an avenue I might be able to take to convince Toyota Canada that this work should be done?!?

I'm going to try to take it to another Canadian dealer in a week or so and see if they're willing to entertain the idea under warranty, although I'm worried that if I waste too much time trying that up north then both the US and the Canadian warranty policies will expire and then I'll be S.O.L.!!
