Headlight assembly issue?

Yep I have the exact same cracks in my headlights also. Out of warranty at 60K so I am just going to replace them once I see moisture inside the lens.

 

My lenses showed the same cracks at about 25K. They were tiny then (less than 1/4"), at 45K they were about 3" and now they run down my entire lens (both lenses) and have started to connect with each other. Up to about 50kmi you couldn't feel the cracks on the outside. Now you can. Toyota denied any knowing of this problem and rejected any warranty claim. They want almost $1000 to replace.

 

I finally took some pictures...

They started off as tiny little diagonal lines at 25Kmi. and turned into these 75Kmi. Keep in mind that I live in florida. Our roads are gravel-free for the most part...

 

Something like this happened to kine as well. I was washing it ane noticed that BOTH headlights had cracks in them. They were curved, which was weird. They followed the curvature of the lens. My local dealership replaced them, because I was still under warranty. I had never seen anything like that before.

 

Looking back. I should have done the same thing. I had no idea they would turn into this. When I had 40K they were about 1.5" long and I told the dealership about it. They said it out of warranty. Sorry. For ~$1000 they can replace them.

Gotta love Central Florida Toyota....

 

My 2011 Tacoma has the same diagonal cracks in both headlights. Showed up first on the driver's side, and now on the passenger side. There are also numerous small "checks" now appearing at the center of both headlights. Looks to me like deterioration of the plastic over time.
