I just bought and used the Chemical Guys headlight stuff and had great results. My headlights weren't bad at all but at the very top on the flat part of the headlight it was juuuuust starting to fade and get some of those sun crystals. This stuff, without a buffer tool or anything, got the plastic back to smooth and took away any yellowishness. Again, they weren't bad at all but this did improve the clarity and supposedly provides UV protection going forward.

I have the tyc aftermarket and they have such bad optics that it’s straight dangerous. Throws light everywhere, but mostly only about 10-20 feet almost directly at the ground.

    straight garbage.

I ended up cleaning up my old oem housings and doing a retrofit.

(most of my driving is done at night)

If your original lenses were hazy / oxidized, almost anything will look brighter. The fact that you sometimes get flashed says to me that the pattern is not the same as OEM. Again, as long as you're happy.
