In the past 6 months to a year I have replaced my headlight bulbs about 6 times or so and more recently I have replaced them 3 times in the past few months(I've been keeping an extra pair in the truck just in case now). Not quite sure what the problem could be but my whole front end is stock on a 07 DC. I've looked at the connectors and they don't look the best, pretty grimey and dirty. Also I have been using sylvania silverstars the whole time. Any help is much appreciated.

I would clean the connectors and put a little dielectric grease on the them. Might help.

yeah I get that, but the last pair I bought barely made it a month and the ones before that not even 2 months. Luckily Wal-Mart is nice enough to return/replace them. Also it's not always both lights that blow, sometimes its one or the other but eventually they will both blow.

I didn't read the post carefully the first time. Your bulbs should be lasting longer than that even if they are Silverstars. I know here at the Chevy dealer that I work at, the Trailblazers were having trouble with headlight bulbs blowing out and new connectors solved the problem.

Clean the connections and make sure you are not touching the glass with your bare fingers. is there possibly water in the housing?

I've never used the Ultras. I may have to try those next time, because I couldn't get 6 months out of the regular ones. The light output was nice, though.

    I love Ultras.

Currently running some PIAA I got to test and not really pleased with them. Looking forward to them blowing out so I can go back to my old reliable. Been running Silverstar/Silverstar Ultra for over a decade on every vehicle and never had a premature burnout.

Everyone on this forum says they suck and they don't last 2 months.

But my Tacoma ran its set for 2 years. My Chevy ran its set for double that, and the second set was as old when I sold it and they were still doing great. Both of my Scion's had Silverstar headlight and fog light bulbs and no issues on either.

I love them. Carefully installed with gloves and making sure I'm not bumping the bulb into things when I install them.

    No problems. Ever.

Clean the connectors, replace the fuses for your headlights, and check the wiring. Some of that grease mentioned earlier should help. Your bulbs shouldn't be going out like that

That is where I will start most definitely, I usually don't use gloves just try to be as careful as possible but from now on I will use latex gloves.

I've never seen water in the housing, but I will clean connectors up real good and replace the fuses and install the next set with gloves just to be sure.

Gloves are a good idea, but if you don't like gloves (like me) then simply disconnect the negative terminal of your battery and place it where it wont accidentally reconncect

Just to make sure someone didn't have a bad day in the manufacturing plant, should you clean brand-new bulbs before install? If so, clean them with what??
