Looking to replace the factory 9003 H4 bulbs in my 2008. What are some good recommendations for a bulb that would last, first of all, and maybe have that really sharp bright blueish/white type glow? I guess I'd need a bulb that wouldn't be so powerful as to melt anything in the housing.

    Thank you!

    No expert here.
So I've had lots of different bulbs.

Wagner night defense, these did well but are a yellow light color. I was very happy with them and still have them. They also survived a collision that left them exposed to vt winter conditions.

Sylvania zxe is what I have in now. They are bright and white but are kinda pricey or they were.
These work well and have lasted so far.

Hella 80/100 watt bulbs. I did upgrade my light harness for these bulbs. They are super bright but also pretty hot. Regular color and you need to make sure your headlights are aimed correctly for other drivers. As with any bulb!

I've used the blue hi pro or similar from Amazon. Was not impressed at all.

I currently have rgb color changing led bulbs with 2700 lumens none rgb in my fog lights.

Led lights are bright as chit.
But need to play nice with our reflector buckets. Most don't, mine piss people off because they spill light and lack cut off.

Hid lights I have no experience other than meeting them on the road. Even the new vehicles suck nowadays.
So it all depends on what you are looking for but halogens work the best with our reflector buckets.
The wiring upgrade also helps light output.
There are lots of posts here about headlights. Everyone thinks theirs is best probably.

I take bulbs out and reuse them.
I always wipe them with isopropyl alcohol before I install them.
I do this with new bulbs as well.

I don't run with my lights on unless I need them so bulbs may last longer for me.

The rgb lights I run a lot.
I like having the ability to change my fogs to the color I choose.
They don't put out much for light but they look good or so I think.

Hope this helps in some way.

    Cheers!!!!!

You can run an HID or LED Kit. Ideally i'd suggest retrofit. Does wonders for light output.

Osram night breakers are what I would suggest for slightly whiter while maintaining stock wattage. Fully coated bulbs to appear whiter reduce light output and usually have shorter bulb life.

HIDs in stock housing are a bad idea, as they will emit glare everywhere and require a retrofit, as will most LEDs.

I hate my HID kit in my stock headlights, one of the few things I miss about my TL, OSRAM CBI D2S bulbs, and ZKW-R clear lenses.

You can retrofit your taco lights for cheap and takes like 3 hours.
