I have a 2009 Taco TRD 4x4 and want to put new headlight bulbs in. The ones in there are oem halogen bulbs. I’m looking for bulbs that are super bright and hopefully will last a few years. I’m not interested in upgrading or modifying the lighting system just want new bulbs. Or should I just go with standard sylvania replacement bulbs? Any suggestions or personal experience with bulbs are appreciated.

For halogens you can have brighter or long lasting, but not both.

Performance stock wattage bulb recommendations are:
    Osram Nightbreakers
    Philips Xtreme
    Volsa +100s

Note that none of these has fully coated glass, as that reduces output and life.

For a longer lasting bulb buy a quality name brand like Philips or Osram, and just get the standard bulb.

None of the above options are going to be “super bright”. To do that in a halogen, you need high wattage.

I can vouch for the Philips Xtreme vision bulbs - they were a huge upgrade over my stock first gen bulbs and have both a whiter light and a much better spread of light down the road.
